SUPPLEMENTAL NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS 2009

Red River Dance Theatre Company will present its annual production of the "NUTCRACKER" at 7:00 P.M. on Friday November 27th (dress rehearsal), Saturday November 28, and at 2:00 on Sunday November 29, 2009. There is also scheduled a special "Arts in Education" performance for MondayNovember 30, 2009. School excuses will be provided in advance pursuant to Rapides Parish School Board requirements. All performances will be at Peabody Magnet High School Auditorium.

SUPPLEMENTAL NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS - AUGUST 15, 2009

All interested, dancers and performers are required to attend placement auditions which were held on Saturday August 1, 2009 at the Arts Annex Studio located at 2700 Lee Street (old Handiworks Building - click here for map). SUPPLEMENTAL AUDITIONS FOR THOSE WHO COULD NOT ATTEND THE REGULAR AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD AT THE ARTS ANNEX FROM 10:30 UNTIL 12:00 ON SATURDAY AUGUST 15, 2009! There is a $5 audition fee and all on-stage performers will be charged a $100 performance fee to cover the cost of costume cleaning, makeup, etc. Scholarships and financial assistance are available upon application. Please complete the Registration Form, Medical Release and, if needed, the Scholarship Form and bring them with you to the audition. These forms can be found here .

Female dancers must wear leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Please wear your hair in a bun.

Youth and adults interested in working with the Costume Crew, the Tech Crew, the Production Crew or the Makeup Crew should attend and complete the required forms. There is no charge to participate in the Crews, but you Crew members should be willing to be available during the Thanksgiving week (except Thanksgiving Day) for "run-throughs" and adjustments. Parental permission is required for participation in the Crews. The Tech Crew director is Mr. Cliff Warner and the Costume Director is Mrs. Mary Ellen Randall. COMPANY AUDITIONS
All Central Louisiana dancers ages 9 and above are welcome to audition for the company. Red River Dance Theatre Company is not a dance school, Rather it is a dance company which enriches and compliments the prior and continued instruction our dancers receive at their home dance studios. Auditions for the company were held Saturday August 1, 2009 at the Arts Annex Studio located at 2700 Lee Street, at the same time as the "NUTCRACKER" auditions for interested dancers. AUDITIONS FOR THE COMPANY DURING SUPPLEMENTAL NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS MAY ONLY BE UPON REQUEST AND WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR. PLEASE E-MAIL HER HERE. Company members commit to participate in Company sponsored training and performances, and the payment of training fees. Female dancers must wear leotard, tights and ballet slippers. Financial Assistance and Sponsored Scholarships are available for both Company membership and the "NUTCRACKER" performance fees.
